I have been hearing about the Cheese Market in the Netherlands as a popular tourist sightseeing. So I was lucky to have visited the Cheese Market in Gouda on its second last day of 2017. Be reminded that the market is only open from April to August every year. Seeing the sun was shinning bright (which is precious for the Dutch weather), I got off my bed and caught a train from Dordrecht Station to Gouda Station, transiting at Rotterdam Centraal Station

Gouda is a pretty old town in the Netherlands. The streets decoration are cheese! Now you know what is the city famous for.

The auction was so lively and I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. The cheese was traded traditionally with the signature handshake. The microphone is also cheese-themed!

It was Thursday and there was the weekend market in Gouda. I always like to linger around and from local market, you see the real side of the locals. I bought 2 delicious freshly baked ham croissant for 1 euro. Also an original flavour Gouda cheese for 5.50 euro.

After walking around Gouda centrum, I took a break at Brownies & downies. Friendly service and cozy old building to chill. I picked a window spot at the upper floor and enjoyed my afternoon peacefully with an appeltaart and cappuccino. This is a good deed business where they hire special people. Recommend Gouda visitors to drop by!
